Strikes 9 November.
Strikes by private and public employees over low salaries, increased taxes, pensions and the treatment of precari (workers on temporary contracts) are scheduled for Friday 9 November. In Rome, the industrial action may affect local transport including buses, trams and metro between 08.30 and midnight, although times may vary depending on the trade union. Service will be guaranteed for the rush hour period between 17.00 and 20.00.
National trains will be affected minimally, according to Trenitalia, which says that 94 per cent of trains will run as usual. Once again, service during rush hour periods (06.00-09.00 and 18.00-21.00) is guaranteed.
Alitalia will be on strike from 10.00 and 18.00, with subsequent flight delays expected.
Many schools, private companies and public administration offices will also be taking part in the strike.
