Summer restrictions on drinks sales.
Bars, restaurants and retail outlets in many parts of the city are not allowed to sell drinks in cans or glass bottles to take away between 20.00 and 03.00 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights until 30 September. The restrictions, which came into force on 27 July, are part of efforts to prevent the antisocial behaviour and incidents of violence that have become a feature of summer nights in popular nightlife areas, as well as to reduce the amount of litter generated.
