Rome's public buses and trams will follow a reduced summer timetable from 1 July until 2 September, when the city's schools reopen.

The move is to facilitate the summer holidays of employees of Rome bus company ATAC and is expected to result in a 10 per cent reduction of services from Monday to Friday.

The frequency of a good number of buses however has not been reduced, including the line C cemetery services and the night buses which in some cases have been increased.

The Rome-Viterbo regional train also follows a reduced service from 1 July-31 August.

The Metro A and B lines follow their usual timetable, running until 01.30 on Friday and Saturday nights as normal.
