On 30 September four drivers and four constructors will be battling it out in the World Superbike championships at the Vallelunga autodrome between Rome and Viterbo. The race could turn out to be crucial for the world title.

Superbike racing is a category of motorcycle racing that employs standard production models, unlike MotoGP bikes which are prototype machines bearing little resemblance to production machines. If they are compared with their car equivalents, MotoGP bikes are the same as Formula One cars, while a Superbike is the same as a Touring car.
