Talking about heli-pads.
The Rome city council has approved a plan to make 1,200 parking spaces available on the roof of the central railway station, Stazione Termini, and is now considering adding a heli-pad to the project. The helipad would be used by the civil protection service, fire brigade and ambulance helicopters and if the noise levels are not above the legal limits it may also be possible to run a helicopter service from the station to Fiumicino international airport. Many of the luxury hotels in the centre of Rome have asked for a helicopter shuttle to the airport which would cost in the region of 100 for a one way trip.
