Taxi drivers protest in Rome
Hundreds of taxis have been gathering around the Circo Massimo from mid-morning on 18 January, causing possible diversion of public transport in the area. There are reports of long queues for taxis at Fiumicino airport with many people opting to take buses or trains into Rome, where there are few cabs in circulation.
This follows a day when large crowds of taxi drivers protested in the capital to show their disapproval for the government
