Testaccio celebrates Buzzati.
100 years since the birth of journalist, painter and screenwriter, Dino Buzzati (1906-1972), Testaccio community library will host an exhibition in his honour. The show runs until 5 February at the Biblioteca Enzo Tortora, Via Zabaglia 27, tracing his life and times as well featuring special edition books and a gallery of photos taken by the author in the Deserto dei Tartari (Tartar Desert) while on a trip with the late journalist and writer Indro Montanelli, Mondadori, Montale and other cultural figures of the 20th century. The writers widow will attend the exhibition on 26 January, and a talk will be held at 18.30 on 2 February on the theme Buzzati e la cronaca nera (crime news) and working in journalism in general. Buzzati, long-term reporter and columnist for Corriere della Sera, will also be honoured with a theatre production, Streghe a Milano (Witches in Milan), running from 24-29 January and directed by Mario Palmieri at the Petrolini Theatre.
