The cost of flying.
Low cost airlines are offering new destinations for travellers to and from Rome and some of the regular airlines have introduced special low price tickets for the low season winter months.
Wizz, the Hungarian-based line, has introduced flights to and from Budapest (prices start at 44,99 one way) and to Katowice in Poland (prices from 54,99 one way).
Air Berlin has flights from Rome to Hamburg, Berlin, Nuremberg and Munster for 29.
Easy Jet, the British company, is offering flights from Rome Ciampino to Bristol, in the west of England, from 31 October.
Ryan Air, the Dublin based low-cost airline, has announced the launch of a new route from Rome to Liverpool to begin on 28 January 2005. The company has recently introduced flights from Rome to Glasgow in Scotland, and to Luton and East Midlands airport in England.
Austrian Airlines has introduced redticket, offering return flights from Rome to Vienna for 77, excluding airport taxes.
Aerlingus, the Irish carrier, will introduce a direct flight from Cork to Rome starting on 27 March 2005.
