Three Tiber bridges.
The Rome city councillor responsible for public works has announced plans for three new bridges over the river Tiber. They will be sited on the stretch of river between EUR and the sea. The first bridge will connect Ostia to Fiumicino, the second the Acilia area to the Via Portuense and the third bridge will be in the EUR vicinity. These new bridges will improve the flow of local traffic in an area of the city where there are currently only two bridges on a 30 km stretch of the river. At present drivers often have to travel up to 10 km before they come to a Tiber crossing.
