Top listings for Italian wines.
Americas wine bible, the Wine Spectator, has declared that the Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova 2001, made by the producer Casanova di Neri, owned by Giacomo Neri, is the finest wine in the world. The Wine Spectator produces an annual list of the worlds hundred best wines, and the magazines classification is one of the most highly-regarded in the upper reaches of the oenological world. Another Tuscan wine comes in at ninth, the Il Blu, a blended wine made by the Tuscan producer La Brancaia. Another Italian who has reason to be content is the Carlo Ferrini, who is oenological consultant to both these Tuscan producers.
