Traffic chaos on coast roads
A weekend of good weather and the first round of the national kite surfing championships caused chaos on the Roman coastline around the Lido di Ostia. An estimated 300,000 people went to the beach and not everyone was satisfied. Access roads were brought to a standstill and finding a parking place was very difficult.
The mayor of Rome, Walter Veltroni, has called a meeting with representatives of the public transport agencies and the local police to find a solution to the problem before the summer season starts.
