Traffic-free Sunday.
Cars and motorcycles will be banned from Romes streets on Sunday 16 January from 10.00 18.00 in a further attempt to cut pollution, which has reached dangerous levels in the city.
The Sunday ban follows eleven days of a total ban on the circulation of old motorcycles and cars that do not have exhaust filters. It comes only three days after the first of twelve Thursdays when traffic will be restricted between 09.00 12.00 and 15.00 19.00 according to the final number of the vehicle number plate.
In spite of all the action taken so far, the air pollution in Rome has been above danger levels every day, except for one, since the beginning of the year.
