Traffic-free Sunday.
Sunday 5 June will be the first ecological Sunday of the summer.
All traffic will be banned from the zones limited to traffic in Romes historic centre, sector G in Trastevere and on the Via Appia Antica. Traffic is free to circulate along the roads on both sides of the Tiber. The ban will be from 10.00-18.00. Further ecological Sundays have yet to be announced.
Ironically this weekend there is also the 50th edition of the Rome motor show from Friday 3 June until Sunday 5 June at the Foro Italico. Three new small cars the Citroen C1, the Peugeot 107 and the Toyota Aygo all of which are due to come on to the market soon, will be on display. There will be a meeting of the Ferrari club and a display of vintage vehicles and of those belonging to the various state security services. As well as this there will be stands of sports utility vehicles, motorcycles, scooters and mini cars. The Italian motor club ACI will be present at the show on Saturday and Sunday, conducting safe-driving tests from 10.00 until 20.00
