Winter ZTL timetable comes into force
The winter timetable of Rome's limited traffic zone (ZTL) is in force from 1 November until 31 March, limiting the movement of certain vehicles within the city's Grande Raccordo Anulare (GRA) ring road.
From Monday to Friday, excluding holidays, the following vehicles are banned: Euro 1 petrol cars; Euro 2 diesel cars; Euro 1 two, three and four wheel two-stroke motorcycles and scooters; and Euro 1 four-stroke three-or four-wheel vehicles. However excluded from the ban are four-stroke Euro 1 motorbikes and motorcycles driven by people resident inside the GRA. See details.
Also from 1 November, the ZTL in the historic centre, Trastevere and Monti is active on Friday and Saturday nights from 21.30 until 03.00 the next day.
Day time access to the historic centre is limited from Monday to Friday from 06.30 to 18.00, and Saturday from 14.00 to 18.00; while traffic is also limited on Friday and Saturday nights from 23.00 to 03.00.
Day time access to Trastevere is limited from 06.30-10.00, excluding public holidays. Full details on Rome's traffic restrictions can be found on the city's mobility website.
