Trains collide in Rome’s Termini station
An investigation has been launched after two high-speed Frecciarossa Trenitalia trains collided near the entrance to Termini Station on 26 April.
The incident, which happened at 19.00, involved a train arriving from Milan and another from Salerno.
A number of carriages were derailed and seven people, all train employees, were taken to hospitals with light injuries.
The accident comes two days before the launch of the privately-run high-speed train service Nuovo Trasporto Viaggiatori (NTV), which will operate out of Rome's upgraded Tiburtina station.
