Rome's Via del Plebiscito has temporarily become a two-way street due to continuing works to extend the number 8 tram line from Largo Argentina to Piazza Venezia along Via delle Botteghe Oscure which is currently closed to most bus lines.
The tram works have resulted in a temporary ban (until 17 November) to drivers of private vehicles, including those authorised for the limited traffic zones, and private tour buses, from entering Piazza Venezia. Commuters are advised to avoid trying to drive across Piazza Venezia because almost all access roads are blocked until 17 November.
The works have also affected many of the city centre bus services that normally follow the Largo Argentina – Via Florida – Via delle Botteghe Oscure route. The majority of buses coming from Corso Vittorio now continue along Via del Plebiscito, as the bus stop in Largo Argentina is only open to a handful of buses.
The bus stop on Via del Plebiscito is also temporarily suspended.
