Transport and museum strike Fri 17 Nov.
A public transport strike will take place on Fri 17 Nov from 20.30 until 24.00 affecting all metro, tram and bus services in the capital as well as the local train services Rome-Lido, Rome-Pantano and Rome-Viterbo. The national train service is not affected. The last buses and trams will leave from their terminus at 20.29 and complete a final route. Services will return to normal at midnight.
In separate industrial action, the custodial staff of city-run museums are also due to go on strike for the whole day. City authorities have warned that museum openings cannot be guaranteed. Employees of environment agency AMA, which is responsible for the capitals rubbish collection, will also not be working, although a skeleton service will be functional for essential services such as cleaning of markets.
