A public transport strike is expected to take place in Rome on 10 February 2011. The four hour protest is scheduled from 08.30 to 12.30 and has been organised by trades' unions representing public transport workers who are concerned about job security.

During this time commuters are not guaranteed a full service and should expect disruptions to most bus, tram and metropolitan routes in the city. Also included in the dispute are trains servicing the following lines Roma-Lido, Roma-Giardinetti and Roma-Civita Castellana-Viterbo.

After 12.30 workers from private company Roma TPL, which took over from Tevere TPL after it went into liquidation last year and now manages 73 bus routes around the city
