Trips to the Appia Antica.
Two new topless buses have joined the Rome tourist routes. The new Archeobuses will join the small fleet that runs from the Termini station to the most important archaeological sites in the Appia Antica Park, and back. The operators of the service, TrambusOpen, have made a special arrangement with the Vatican commission for sacred archaeology, which is responsible for the catacombs of S. Callisto, S. Sebastiano and Domitilla, for discounted admission fees to visit one of the catacombs for 3 instead of 5. Passengers will also be able to rent a bicycle at the park headquarters on the Appia Antica for 2 an hour.
The Archeobuses leave the Termini station once an hour from 09.45 16.45; the round trip costs 8. For information tel. 065126314 or see www.parcoappiaantica.org
