Week of Prayer for Christian Unity.
Reconciliation will be among the key themes during the annual week of prayer for Christian Unity from 18-25 January.
Prof Louis Weil will discuss the issue at St Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Via XX Settembre 7 on Thursday 20 January at 16.30; the lecture is entitled, Rome and Canterbury steps toward reconciliation through the sharing of gifts.
This will be followed by an ecumenical celebration of the word, at which Reverend William McCulloch of St Andrew's, will preach.
Another visitor to Rome this week is Reverend John L. Bell of the Iona Community an ecumenical Christian organisation based on the Scottish island of Iona.
Bell will present a workshop on church music in the Lutheran Church, Via Toscana 7, on Sunday 23 January from 15.00 to 16.30.
Following refreshments, he will lead worship in the style of the Iona community at 17.00.
The week of prayer for Christian Unity is run annually by Churches Together in Rome.
