Senegalese woman slipped off platform of Rome metro station.
A 33-year-old woman from Senegal has died after becoming trapped under a train on Rome's Metro A underground line, according to Italian news agency ANSA.
The incident, which is being treated as a tragic accident, occurred at the Lepanto metro station near the Vatican at around 11.00 on 30 May.
The woman, who reportedly suffered from poor sight, appears to have slipped on the platform, becoming trapped under an oncoming train.
Emergency services freed the woman from under the train but she reportedly died of her injuries shortly afterwards.
