Passengers on Tram 8 can expect disruption to the service from Stazione Trastevere into Largo Argentina until 5 August.
Buses will operate instead of trams along the route for the next two weeks, mainly because of work to move the tram’s terminal from Largo Argentina to Piazza S. Marco just off Piazza Venezia.
Work is necessary in Piazza Cairoli, the stop just before Largo Argentina, to prepare it for the new route that will no longer stop in front of the theatre in Largo Argentina but continue on down Via Florida and Via delle Botteghe Oscure into Piazza Venezia, the location for the new terminal.
At the same time new tram tracks are being laid in Piazza Bernadino da Feltre, which is what is causing the disruption to the service along Viale Trastevere.
