World Theatre Day in Rome
Rome celebrates World Theatre Day on 27 March with several initiatives taking place in the capital's theatres.
The UNESCO-backed event was first held in Vienna in 1961 and highlights the cultural and social importance of theatre.
Teatro Quirinetta hosts an evening called "Teatro per il Teatro" from 21.00, with free admission. Italian actress Anna Proclemer reads the World Theatre Day annual message, which has been translated into 20 different languages, and will be read in theatres across the world. This year
