The Amerigo Vespucci pays homage to Ennio Morricone
The Amerigo Vespucci, Italy’s most famous and beautiful Navy sailing ship, paied its’ homage to Ennio Morricone who recentrly died in Rome.
The captain – Gianfranco Bacchi - played "Tema d'amore" on the ship's piano, a soundtrack written by the Morricone for the Oscar winning movie "Nuovo cinema paradiso".
An even more appropriate choice since the Vespucci had Taormina and Etna (Sicily) in the background, where Giuseppe Tornatore's film is set.
