54th Berliner Oktoberfest
1-17 Oct 2004. Munich is not the only town to have Oktoberfest. Berlin has revived an old tradition with the Berliner Oktoberfest offering a selection of 60 carousels and roller coasters as well as a giant beer-tent with Bavarian specialties and live music. Up to a quarter of a million people are expected to party at the central Kurt-Schumacher square and prove that Prussians too can enjoy the Bavarian way of partying, at least for two weeks a year. There are also fire-works and a Miss Oktoberfest contest.
