With the English subtitle A Passage to Eritrea, Crossing Ethiopia Today, Libya, the Captain and Me, Somalia, Time Ago, the Museo di Roma Palazzo Braschi presents a photographic and multimedia exhibition documenting the travels and exploits of Italians in Italy's former African colonies.

On display is a selection of vintage and contemporary photographs, archive maps from the Società Geografica Italiana, travel notebooks, paintings, video installations, interviews with travel writers, and quotations from Africa's explorers, writers, historians and anthropologists.

The exhibition is an initiative of the Festival della Letteratura di Viaggio whose upcoming eighth edition is scheduled for 24-27 September in Rome.
