22-23 Oct. The German-born pianist Alexander Lonquich stars at S. Cecilia as piano soloist and guest conductor of the Orchestra of the Accademia di S. Cecilia. He is accompanied by Carlo Maria Parazzoli on violin and Luigi Piovano on cello.
Lonquich is one of those few pianists as comfortable – and as successful – performing as a soloist as he is as a chamber musician live and in recordings. His repertoire ranges from the classical to contemporary, and he has won acclaim for his solo Mozart and Schubert work in particular. In recent years Lonquich has branched out into conducting.
The programme for this concert consists in music by Mendelssohn and Beethoven.
