Building an Idea: McKim, Mead & White and the American Academy in Rome, 1914-2014.
The Academy celebrates the centenary of its main building with an exhibition of drawings, plans, photographs and other archival material relating to the McKim, Mead & White building, the only European project designed by the architectural firm of the same name.
Curated by architectural historian Marida Talamona, the exhibition outlines the design, construction and early critical reception of the building, and includes recently-resurfaced designs from Italian state archives.
