Teatro dell'Opera di Roma presents Anna Bolena by Donizetti.

20 Feb-1 March. This is a new production of Anna Bolena by the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, conducted by Riccardo Frizza and directed by Andrea De Rosa.

Alex Esposito sings the part of Henry VIII, Maria Agresta and Valentina Varriale of Anne Boleyn and Carmela Remigio of Jane Seymour.

This is the second of the Tudor operas by Donizetti. It was an overwhelming success when it premiered in Milan in 1830 at the Teatro Carcano.

De Rosa directed another of Donizetti's Tudor operas, Maria Stuarda, in an austere but much applauded production for the Teatro dell'Opera in spring 2017.
