Artisti dell’Ottocento: temi e riscoperte

This exhibition draws on the permanent collection of the municipal modern art gallery to reflect the variety of artistic movements in Rome during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

It also focuses on the predominant themes that inspired the artists at the time, such as the ancient past, portraits, and everyday scenes, with a particular emphasis on images of Rome.

The movements featured include Art Nouveau, Symbolism, Divisionism and Magic Realism. Among the most noted Italian artists in the exhibition are Nino Costa, Giulio Aristide Sartorio and Angelo Morbelli, as well as French artists Auguste Rodin and Georges Paul Leroux.
