Switzerland through the eyes of international cinema in Rome exhibition.

5 Dec-31 Jan. Rome's Istituto Svizzero presents an exhibition of archive photos and material on Switzerland seen through more than a century of foreign films, on display at Teatro dei Dioscuri al Quirinale from 5 December until 31 January. This cinematic exhibition offers a glimpse of Switzerland through the eyes of international cinema, backdrops of films—real or otherwise—chosen by 20producers and directors in the 20th century from Laurel & Hardy to Paolo Sorrentino. The exhibition also highlights the international film industry's use of Swiss clichés such as bank vaults, mountain chalets and romantic lakesides.
