23 July 2004. This is probably the worlds most famous, and certainly most spectacular folk dance company. Founded by Igor Moiseyev, the dances come from all over the ex-Soviet Union and alternate company pieces, solos, trios and so on. The men, in red boots and silver swords, leap and spin, defying the laws of gravity; the women, in beautiful costumes, glide across the stage like dolls, deftly turning and swirling their shawls to create ever-changing pictures. The music is hauntingly beautiful and stays with you for days after.
