14 Feb 2006. In Les 4 Saisons, choreography by Angelin Preljocaj. Les 4 saisons is the Albanian choreographers most recent work and was only recently premiered, in the summer of 2005. Against a background of The Four Seasons, Vivaldis famous violin concertos, Preljocaj presents a cheerful celebration of life with a work populated by a cavalcade of porcupines, transparent dancing bears, pearly clad snow-bunnies, and men in day-glo green. Critics have accused the choreographer of being at a loss for any real new ideas, which is why he is turning to tricks that he never explores properly. The result is arguably a silly ballet full of mostly purposeless props.
