Barocco a Roma: Le meraviglia delle arti
1 April-26 July. The Fondazione Roma Museo-Palazzo Cipolla presents a programme of satellite events including extraordinary openings and guided tours of baroque Rome, centred around an exhibition whose title translates as Baroque in Rome. The Wonder of the Arts.
The exhibition presents numerous pieces on loan from major Italian and international institutions, including sketches by Bernini, designs by Borromini and Pietro da Cortona, and a tapestry by Poussin.
Highlights include Portrait of Costanza Bonarelli by Bernini; Atalanta and Hippomenes by Guido Reni, The triumph of Baccus by Pietro da Cortona, and St Mary Magdalene Penitent by Guercino.
