Bellissima: Italy and High Fashion 1945-1968
The Museo Nazionale delle Arti del XXI secolo (MAXXI) recalls the enormous success of Italian high fashion in the post-war era and how the "made in Italy" brand helped to define Italian identity in the eyes of the world.
The exhibition includes photos of designs by leading Italian courtiers such as Balestra, Biki, Capucci, Fendi, Ferragamo, Galitzine, Pucci, Valentino, Schuberth and Sorelle Fontana.
Also on display are accessories such as hats, shoes, handbags and luxury jewellery by Bulgari alongside works by artists such as Carla Accardi, Alberto Burri and Lucio Fontana.
