7 Feb. Otherwise, Rome's new independent English language bookshop near Piazza Navona, presents Between English and Italian during which Ann Goldstein and Martina Testa will discuss their work in the field of translation.
An editor at The New Yorker, Goldstein is best known as the English translator of Elena Ferrante and Primo Levi. Testa has translated many American authors into Italian, including David Foster Wallace and Cormac McCarthy, and she is an editor at the Italian publishing house Edizioni Sur.
The conversation will be moderated by the writer and translator Allison Grimaldi Donahue. 19.30-20.30.
Otherwise is a collaboration between well-known Roman independent bookshop Altroquando, and Europa Editions, the New York-based publishing house which is owned by Italian publisher Edizioni E/O.
In December the shop took over the recently-vacated premises of Altroquando whose other outlet continues to operate across the street.
