Bilingual literary festival
26 Jan-22 March 2004. A series of readings in English and Italian by established writers from Italy, New Zealand, Australia, the UK, the US and Ireland. The events will combine literature with visual art and sound, and have been organised by the cultural association embrio. The first reading is on Mon 26 Jan with Scottish writer A. L. Kennedy, Australian poet Andrew Sant and Italian novelist Andrea Salieri, accompanied by the electronic music group embrio.net and pianist Valerio Vigliar, and with work by American painter Troy Hendriksen. On Mon 23 Feb, Neapolitan-born writer Antonio Pascale will read, along with English writer Philip Hensher and New Zealand author Philip Temple, and the event on Mon 22 March will feature Britain's Tibor Fischer, American poet and translator Sarah Arvio and Italy's Andrea Appetito.
