13 April 2007. In Another Evening: I Bow Down, choreography by Bill T. Jones. This recent work by the ground-breaking Afro-American choreographer and dancer is a 90-minute collage that interweaves new movement, excerpts from existing repertoire, original and traditional music, and text into a vibrant multimedia work. The ten-member dance company sweeps through time and space in the minimalist, dreamlike landscape created by set designer Bjorn G. Amelan and lighting designer Robert Wierzel. As the performance unfolds on stage, the actions of choreographer and company become stories in themselves, as history, life and art merge. Daniel Bernard Roumain provides live music accompaniment and sound design through both acoustic and electronic violin, a live DJ mix and music performed by the Bronx-based hardcore band, Regain the Heart Condemned.
