Bloomsday in Rome
16 June. The Fiddler's Elbow in Rome celebrates Bloomsday on Saturday 16 June.
The annual event sees Dublin and other cities around the world commemorate the life of Irish writer James Joyce. The day is dedicated in particular to the character of Leopold Bloom from Joyce's novel Ulysses which is set on 16 June 1904.
Rome's oldest Irish pub presents a talk by Prof. Carlo Bigazzi on "Joyce in Rome" at 19.00. There will be readings in English and Italian followed by traditional Irish ballads with Trio Binario from 22.00.
