If you are the type of person who feels the sambas call come carnival time then France this year could be for you. France? Yes, indeed, a special Year of Brazil starts in earnest this March bringing with it an array of colourful events and parties to the French capital. This month, the first of a three season programme this year, kicks off with the Raizes do Brazil from the famous work by Srgio Buarque de Holanda. Then a large selection of exhibitions on Brazils culture, music and the Brazilian soul have been organised to wonder visitors. Some of the main events include the Brazilian samba on 19 March from 15.00 to 18.00, Dudu Nobre and Marcelo D2 on 23 March at 20.00, Djavan on 26 march at 20.00, and the Bahia art party on 29 March starting at 20.00 with Riacho and Dida banda Feminina. Tickets cost between 3.20 to 6.50. Concerts tickets cost 22.
