Rome's Bioparco launched a new butterfly-themed exhibition area called "Butterflies & Co. A microcosm to discover", on 19 April.
Visitors can stroll though the 80-sqm heated greenhouse in the company of tropical butterflies as well as hundreds of other tiny creatures including stick insects, leafhoppers, beetles and giant centipedes.
The experience is enhanced by three-dimensional models, microscopes and video cameras allowing visitors to view details invisible to the naked eye.
