Casa di Goethe: Punti di Vista
22 March-15 Oct. Punti di Vista (Points of View) is an exhibition by German photographer Kerstin Schomburg who, during the summer of 2015, followed in the footsteps of important landscape artist and friend of Goethe, Jakob Philipp Hackert (1737-1807).
Schomburg uses her camera to provide a modern version of Hackert's celebrated scenes of Rome, including St Peter's and the Baths of Caracalla, as well as the Roman hinterland such as the waterfalls of Tivoli, the Via Appia, and Villa Conti in Frascati.
The exhibition also includes some original Hackert works alongside research notes by Schomburg.
