Celebrate Thanksgiving and support charity
Join The Rome Digest for a charitable Thankgsiving-themed lunch on 1 December from 13.00-17.00.
We will gather at Casa Martinelli in northern Rome to feast on local, seasonal vegetables, roasted turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce and much much more. Food will be paired with wines from Lazio. The meal will be prepared by Chris Behr (chef of the Rome Sustainable Food Project), John Regefalk (sous chef ofMetamorfosi), Mamma Parla and Gabriele Bonci (owner and founder of Pizzariumand Panificio Bonci). All proceeds will benefit Cibo Libero.
Cibo Libero is a working farm and kitchen owned and operated by women inside Rome’s Rebibbia prison. The incarcerated women raise animals and cultivate vegetables and are in the process of building a dairy facility. Their products will soon be available for sale to the public at places in Rome such as DOL-Di Origine Laziale; Cibo Libero products will also be used by DOL, Pizzarium and Panificio Bonci.
The venue, Casa Martinelli, is located off the Via Flaminia Nuova. Transport is included in the price. Please specify in your order if you will be taking your own vehicle.
