15-19 July 2003. To mark the 60th anniversary of the bombing of S. Lorenzo, the documentation centre at Verano cemetery will be open to the public for a few days. The centre, near the Portico Monumentale entrance, includes testimonials, photographs and illustrations of the 1943 bombardment, as well as films that narrate the history of Verano from 1931 until the 1970s. The Centro di Documentazione will be inaugurated 15 July at 18.30 and will be open 10.00-13.00, 16.00-19.00 until 19 July. Admission is free. After 19 July visits to the centre can be arranged on request.

There will also be free guided visits to the Basilica of S. Lorenzo (16 and 17 July, 17.00) and to the Quadriportico entrance of Verano Cemetery (19, 21, 22, 23 July 17.30, 20 July 10.00).
