Christine Finley exhibition in Rome
6 June - 6 July. FDA Project presents Colpo d'Occhio, an exhibition by American artist Christine Finley.
The show is curated by Susanna Gargiulo Stierli who describes C. Finley's work as "turbines of colour dancing on canvases. The geometric shapes, always different from each other, break up and reconnect the figures as in a traditional patchwork quilting, a sort of kaleidoscope that mesmerises and captures and projects an unexpected metaphysical dimension. Representations are marked by a dynamism and thrilling lyricism."
During the exhibition there will be videos that document the works by the Rome-based artist.
C. Finley is known for her vibrant geometric paintings and site-specific public art installations such as her high-profile Wallpapered Dumpsters project.
Currently she is artist-in-residence at Gai Mattiolo fashion house in Rome.
