Christmas Service at Westminster Abbey
24 Dec. Christmas Eve at Westminster Abbey is a favourite with many Londoners set as it is in one of the worlds most beautiful if slightly daunting churches. This year Westminster Abbey has a service of seven lessons and carols at 16.00 on Christmas Eve. It is led by the Dean of Westminster, The Very Reverend Dr Wesley Carr, with singing by the choristers of Westminster Choir. On Friday 24 December the day begins at 7.30 with Morning Prayer; at 8.00 there is Holy Communion; in the afternoon at 15.30 there is Evening Prayer and the highlight for many at 16.00 with a Service of Lessons & Carols. In the evening at 23.30: First Eucharist of Christmas & Blessing of the Crib, Vierne Messe solennelle, Schtz Hodie Christus natus est. The Very Reverend Dr Wesley Carr, the Dean of Westminster is leading the service.
