12, 13 May 2006. In Callas, choreography by Reinhild Hoffmann. Hoffmann restages a dance/theatre work she created in 1983 for a German company and hands it over to the soloists of the Florentine dance company directed by Giorgio Mancini who is showing increasing interest in contemporary repertoire. One by one, each of the nine dancers on stage is transformed into the divine Maria Callas and narrates a fragment of her life. Hoffmann insists that it is not a romanced biography, but a story of the art and the life of a myth.
