Concerts and circus for Tsunami victims.
8-10 April 2005. The Cabuwazi Circus has organised, together with conscientious pupils from the Hndel high school, a weekend of fun to help raise money for Sri Lankan victims of the recent Tsunami in South Asia. Over the course of three days the big top on the Wiener Street will be alive with the sound of music and entertainment. The proceeds from the different events all go the Brot fr die Welt (Bread for the World) charity association, which supports aid and reconstruction efforts in Sri Lanka. On the musical schedule visitors can expect to encounter the bands Resoluto and LoonNicS as well as performer Hans der Kleingrtner, whose musical influences take in Caribbean calypso to Ska and Reggae. The girls chamber choir, the youth symphonic orchestra and the ensemble Shikamana are the main attractions on Saturday as they perform a range of classical music, jazz and old jewish folk songs. The final day is for those who need a laugh with Cabuwazis full selection of circus entertainers giving a special performance. Tickets cost 4 and 5.
