Conference on Thrse of Lisieux
10-11 Nov 2003. Two-day conference on St Thrse of Lisieux and her influence on theology and spirituality today. St Thrse entered the Carmelite convent of Lisieux in France in 1888 at the age of 15 and died from tuberculosis at 24. "The Little Flower", as she is often called, was canonised in 1925 and was declared a Doctor of the Church by Pope John Paul II in 1997. Only two other women, St Catherine of Siena and St Teresa of Avila are Doctors of the Church. The conference will include lectures, debates and prayers (10 Nov from 15.00-19.00 and 11 Nov from 9.00-19.00).
