In collaboration with Conservatory of S. Cecilia, the contemporary music branch of the active Musica per Roma Foundation presents a series of events that not only celebrate and showcase contemporary music, but provide an explanatory commentary for those who find the genre a little daunting. Protagonist of the events is the Parco della Musica Contemporanea Ensemble conducted by Tonino Battista. The 9 June concert features music by the well known composers Sofia Gubaidulina and Harrison Birtwistle and by the young composers Luigi Verdi, Emiliano Borrelli, Lorenzo Troiani and Domenico Turi introduced by composition teacher Luigi Verdi. The 28 June concert sees the performance of Workers Union by Louis Andriessen and of Cheating, Lying, Stealing by David Lang, as well as pieces by conservatory students Simone Cardini, Teresa Fantasia and Marco Noia introduced by Professor Giovan Battista Luca.
